Cloth Diapers... modern?

Well I have 2 bambinos I am here wrestling with. A 3 years old daughter and a 2 years old son... yeah I have my hands full!

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I got fired because of that. Long story short, I made a case of it and won. I was then left jobless with a lump sum. I had to smartly figure out how I was going to spend that cash.

Since I am an internet nut, I spent my days searching the baby section on eBay making a list of things I would like to get and reading on everything baby related. In my reading, I saw a disposable vs. cloth diapers debate. My initial reaction was "who in their right mind still uses cloth diapers?". I was flabbergasted. I spent a who day researching this cloth diaper story. Can you imagine how surprised I was when I realized that they were not the old plastic pants and diaper pin story. I searched youtube for all videos they had too. After crunching the numbers I was sold on the cloth! Look how pretty they are!
Now, Since I live in the Caribbean and have to pay for it to come my way I didn't have the time nor extra cash to sample one and ten another. I had to make a decision at once and order quickly. I encountered the Fuzzibunz one size diapers and was sure that this was the diaper for me. It was a pocket diaper that allows you to customize the absorbency, plus it was a one size fits all diaper that grows with the child. The positive reviews online did it for me. I bought a start up kit with everything for about $400 (USD) from fuzzibunzstore.com

The diapers themselves were luxuriously soft to the touch. I knew that my daughter would definitely enjoy the plushness on her bottom! I loved them. Washing them were no big deal either. The mess from younger babies are water soluble so they were easy to simply toss into the washing machine.

The diapers arrived shortly after my daughter was born so that meant that she spent about 2 weeks in newborn huggies. She had a horrible rash as well as eczema. Switching to the cloth reduced that drastically! I will have to do a part 2 on cloth daipers. This was money well spent!

Tell me about the way you and cloth first met as well as your first impression... I'd love to hear about that.

Beautiful beach day

I got a day home from school. National assessments are ongoing for the next 2 days but I have to invigilate tomorrow... how fun :(  Everyone who was home today decided to head to one of the 365 beaches to relax and enjoy the day. To say that we live on an island that boast about have a beach for each day of the year, I have only been to one twice for the whole year. Its a shame... the beaches are gorgeous (google Antigua beaches or Barbuda pink sand). The beach I went to today was Pigeon point beach... beautiful. You can see it in the pictures.

I wish everyday was like today. I love being a beach bum: sleeping, eating junk and floating on crystal blue paradise. My kids are horribly afraid of going for a swim but had no problem playing in the sand and playground all day long.

Please let me know, have you ever visited the Caribbean? or maybe Antigua and Barbuda? Do you live  close to beaches or anything of the sort? Let me hear from you!

Grocery shopping on an Empty Stomach

Never. I repeat: NEVER GO GROCERY SHOPPING ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!!!

My mom always told me not to do this but who really listens to this? Every time she says this I would dismiss it because I am usually in a delusional state of mind to believe that I have really good self control.

I was at the point where I needed to pick up a few things at the supermarket for my 2 bambinos (girl 3 years and boy 2 years) and for myself. I made a short list (the lists really do help... most of the times), ignored my rumbling tummy, packed the kids in the car and went to the "sookermarket" (according to the bambinos). The list consisted of about 8 items and I cashed out with a really long receipt :S There were at least 3 items I have never purchased in the basket. *sigh*

I guess I learnt the hard way...
What's your take on this? Do you make sure you have eaten a meal before doing your grocery shopping? Or do you have really good self control? Let me know! Adios folks!

More surveys completed

Soo..... I popped back on bzzagent.com  and there was no campaigns for me to do. I expected this anyway. I clicked on the survey area and saw that they had a few more surveys up for me to do :D I was cool with that! I got a few more points and I am looking forward to see what could be done with em. I am hoping that in about 3 weeks I would be getting my first campaign. *fingers crossed*

I see that after all that work of completing those surveys, my buzzscore is still 3.3 I am going to have to find ways in building it up! Adios folks!

I Just signed up!!

I was kinda bored on the internet and came across a blogger (i think it was lacekitten... i dunno) that gave a review about Moddeals.com. I had just purchased clothes from there and just so happen to find this blogger interesting. I started scrolling through the posts and saw a few posts about Bzzagent.com. My interest was aroused and after a few reviews on youtube, I signed up! I was so excited that I filled out all of the surveys one behind the other. Surprisingly, I got an award for that (yippee!!) I am really excited about this. I am so excited I quickly created my own blog (first one!) just so I can be an awesome member! Yeah, I can already see that I need to work on that buzzscore. Imagine that! I'm looking forward and will keep the blogosphere updated. Adios
